산자를 위한 심오한 가르침
티베트 사자의 서에서는 우리가 사후에 보게 되는
그 모든 빛들과 신들의 세계가 사실은
우리 자신의 마음에서 투영된 환영에
불가한 것이라고 분명히 책은 선언하고 있다.
그것들은 실체를 가진 것들이 아니라
우리의 무의식세계가 펼쳐 보이는
환상의 그림자에 지나지 않는다.
나아가 삶도 죽음도 우리의 환영이고 ,
모습도 색깔도 마음까지도 실체 없는 환영의 세계이다.
삶도 나 자신이 만드는 것이고 세계도 내가 창조하는 것이다.
티베트사자의 서가 우리에게 일깨우는 진리는
바로 그 환영의 세계를 속히 깨달으라는 것이다.
죽음에 이르는 자의 귀에 대고 죽음은
환영에 불과한 것이며 삶까지도 그림자일 뿐이니,
서둘러 그것들에서 벗어나라고 이 책은 속삭인다.
" 아! 고귀하게 태어난 자여 저근원에서 나오는 빛을 보라,
그 빛을 깨달으라 , 그 빛이 그대 마음에 근본이다.
네 말을 들으라,
그대를 유혹하는 저 덧없는 환영들에 집착하지 말라 "

Profound Teachings for the Living
In *The Tibetan Book of the Dead*,
it is clearly declared that all the lights and divine realms
we encounter after death are,
in fact, merely projections of our own mind, mere illusions.
These are not entities with their own reality
but shadows of fantasies displayed by our unconscious.
Furthermore, both life and death are illusions, and so too are form,
color, and even the mind itself,
mere phantoms without true substance.
Life is something we ourselves create,
and the world is something we fashion.
The truth *The Tibetan Book of the Dead*
seeks to awaken in us is the need to swiftly realize
the illusory nature of this world.
It whispers in the ears of the dying
that death is nothing but an illusion,
and life itself is but a shadow,
urging them to quickly transcend both.
"Ah! Noble-born, behold the light emerging from that source.
Realize this light, for it is the very essence of your mind.
Hear these words and
do not cling to the fleeting illusions that tempt you."
