The reason for working is changing

Google's mission is to make the world’s information universally accessible,

while Facebook (now Meta) aims to connect everyone more closely.

By setting these goals to address social challenges,

employees at these companies are able to find deep meaning in their work.

I believe the reason companies like Google and Meta

are able to attract so many top talents is not only

because they offer the highest levels of salary and benefits,

but also because they give their employees

a sense of life’s meaning and purpose through their work.

In the future, the ability to provide others

with meaning and purpose will be recognized as an economic value,

and organizations and individuals capable of doing so will lead society.

This can be explained based on Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs:

once individuals reach the final stage of self-actualization,

they naturally develop an altruistic desire

to help the entire society achieve its own self-actualization.

 --From MONEY 2.0--

Author Katsuaki Sato, often referred to as the "Mark Zuckerberg of Japan, " presents the concept of "MONEY 2.0, " arguing that innovations in information technology are completely transforming the form, value, and structure of money and the economy.

This book analyzes modern economic shifts such as the rise of the sharing economy and cryptocurrencies, emphasizing that we are entering an era where it will be difficult to create wealth without understanding technology. It also introduces innovative business models like "TimeBank, " a time-trading platform, and explains new methods of creating wealth through the use of information technology.

Upon its release, the book quickly became a bestseller, reaching No. 1 on Amazon Japan's overall ranking and selling over 200,000 copies.
