물리학은 우리에게 에너지는 창조될 수도 없고,
소멸될 수도 없으며, 그것은 단지 이쪽에서 저쪽으로
이동할 뿐이라고 가르쳤다.
만약 그렇다면 우리가 다른 사람에게 준 것은
단지 에너지의 교환에 지나지 않으며
하느님의 관점에서 본다면 그것은 결국 아무것으로
간 것도 아니라는 이론이 성립된다.
더 간단히 이야기하면 그 원천인 하느님으로부터 떠나지 않았다.
에너지가, 또는 물질이 어느 한 사람으로부터
다른 사람에게 간 것처럼 보일지라도
그건 맨 처음부터 원래 있던 곳에 그대로 있는 것이나 똑같다는 말이다.
주는 것과 받는 것은 두 개의 서로 다른 행동이 아니라
결국 하나라는 말이다.
정말 주는 것과 받는 것이 동일 선상에 있다면
우리가 가장 원하는 것을 먼저 준다는 말이 상당히 설득력이 있다.
그러므로 주는 것과 받는 것은 궁극적으로 같은 행위이기 때문에
당신이 거룩한 경험을 한다는 말은
상대방을 거룩하게 여길 때에만 가능하다.

Giving and Receiving as One Unified Act
Physics has taught us that energy
can neither be created nor destroyed;
it can only be transferred from one place to another.
If this is true, then what we give to others
is merely an exchange of energy, and from God's perspective,
it means that nothing has truly left its original source.
In simpler terms, it has not departed from God, its origin.
Even though it may seem that energy or matter
has moved from one person to another,
it is essentially still in the same place it originally was.
Giving and receiving are not two separate actions;
they are ultimately one.
If giving and receiving are on the same level,
the idea that we should give what we want most first is quite convincing.
Therefore, since giving and receiving are fundamentally the same act,
experiencing something sacred
is only possible when you consider the other person as sacred.
